 Where do I begin? 

Start clipping pictures and getting ideas from the internet. Our Houzz profile is a great place to start! We will gladly meet with you to assess the feasibility of a certain project and offer our 35 years of experience to help you achieve your dreams.

 Do we need formal building plans to do this project? 

For small baths and deck projects we can provide plans to satisfy building officials. On larger additions or renovations we have worked with many local architects and can suggest a few to interview and we strongly believe in being a part of the process from the beginning to more closely monitor feasibility and to assist with selections.

 How much will it cost? 

A good general rule in this area is $200 per square foot. Kitchens and baths will skew that number upwards due to plumbing, fixture and cabinet/counter top costs.

 

 How long will it take? 

Bath projects and decks are a few weeks. Larger kitchen renovations can be 2-3 months. Additions or new construction can be 3-6 months or longer, depending on complexity and scope.

 

 Will we need permits? 

Most often we are going to need a permit to do work on your house and will work to secure them with you.
 

 What happens if I make changes along the way? 

We provide a very detailed estimate laying out the scope of work in 30 different construction categories with Labor, Material, and Subcontractors broken out that we bring into the Contract. Any deviation from the Contract will be handled by a Change Order that will have just as much detail. See our page on Our Process to learn more about how we work with our clients.

 

 What are your qualifications? 

We are a licensed New Home Construction Contractor (Reg.# NHC.0013204) as well as a licensed Home Improvement Contractor (Reg. #HIC.0565924) in the State of CT. We are also A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau. The Pratley Company,LLC has been in business since 1990.

 

 Are you insured ? 

We have all necessary Insurances to complete your job and will present you with a Certificate of Insurance before work begins.
